The trio of Jamie Masefield, Will Patton and Matt Flinner brings together three of Vermont’s finest mandolinists for a rare evening of eclectic music in the unique (and very happy sounding) setting of three mandolins. Joined by journeyman bassist Pat Melvin, the group performs music ranging from Bill Monroe to Benny Goodman and Philip Glass to Norman Blake, along with plenty of their own original music. Formed in 2019, the group has performed several shows around Vermont every winter from 2020 to 2024 (except 2021 during the Covid pandemic), including the Lane Series in Burlington, the Chandler Center for the Arts in Randolph, Town Hall Theater in Middlebury, the Highland Center for the Arts in Greensboro and Artistree in South Pomfret. (The group performs seasonally only in the winter months, as Jamie Masefield works the rest of the year as an in-demand dry stone mason.)
